BRAINTREE, MA — Most of Braintree High School's heating woes are over, according to school officials.
Following days of preparation and work on the heating systems, the Braintree High School administration announced that many of the classrooms with low temperatures last week are now between 60 and 67 degrees. Students in a room with a temperature under 60 degrees will be relocated to an available room.
"We believe all of these rooms will be ready for teachers and students tomorrow, and school will start at the normal time," school officials wrote on the Braintree Public Schools Facebook page.

The one area that remains cool is the cafeteria due to the number of large windows in the space. Students may be moved to the gymnasium to eat, with a decision will be made in the morning.
Last week, issues with the boiler system combined with low temperatures led to freezing classrooms in some parts of the school. Contractors have spent the past few days working on the system.

"With a school the size of Braintree High, extreme temperatures always have an impact. As such, we encourage all students to dress warmly while we recover from the recent record-setting cold," school officials wrote.
The good news is that the forecast calls for temperature in the mid-30s Monday-Wednesday, with a chance to hit the high 40s and maybe even the mid-50s by the end of the week.
