“This free family event has something for everyone. We are humbled by the outpouring of support that we have received in financial support from the residents and businesses in town and the partnership we have made with the Town of Braintree. This celebration is not only a celebration of our country’s independence but it’s also a celebration of Braintree. The committee is very proud that we’re the first, we’re the biggest and we’re the best Independence Day Celebration on the South Shore,” Committee Chairman Sean Powers said.

The committee is still in need of donations to help fund the costs of the parade and celebration. The two easiest ways residents and businesses can make donations is by using the reply pre-addressed envelopes included in their latest BELD bills or donating online at www.Braintrees4th.org.

Added Mayor Joe Sullivan, “The celebration is an opportunity for all of Braintree to come together and celebrate our nation’s beginning. It’s important for all of us to take a moment, and reflect on the history of America and the history of Braintree. The Town of Braintree is honored to be a partner with the committee to ensure that the parade and celebration remain successful so that families can enjoy it for years to come.”

In the event of rain, the celebration will be postponed to Sunday, July 1 and run from 6 – 10 PM with DJ Music and Fireworks 10 PM. So bring a blanket, come early and stay late and enjoy as Braintree celebrates America’s Birthday!
