Braintree Man Charged With Holding Partner Over Balcony

BRAINTREE, MA — A Braintree man faces charges after allegedly holding his partner over a second-floor balcony.
Charles C. Lewis, 32, was arraigned Monday in Quincy District Court. He pleaded not guilty to two counts of assault to murder, two counts of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and assault with a dangerous weapon. He was ordered held on $5,000 bail, according to the Patriot Ledger. If he posts bail, he must have no contact with the victim and wear a GPS device.
Around 1 a.m. Sunday morning, Lewis got into an argument with the victim about him being anti-social towards a friend. During the argument, Lewis allegedly held the victim over a balcony and later threw him down a flight of stairs, according to court records.

Lewis told police that he was acting in self-defense and the victim struck him first.
Lewis is due back in court Oct. 27.
