The caller told police that he was sitting at the intersection of Congress Street and Kendall Avenue waiting to take a left turn when a car, allegedly driven by Fay, took a wide right turn from Kendall and hit the stopped car. According to the driver of the other car, Fay reeked of alcohol and left when he saw police arriving at the scene.
Responding officers found Fay walking on Spring Street back to his car. When asked if he was drinking, Fay said he had five beers at a party earlier and was just driving. He was also asked what happened, telling police that the crash was his fault but would not elaborate.
