Braintree Man Faces Child Rape Indictment

BRAINTREE, MA — A Braintree man prosecutors said repeatedly raped a young girl was indicted by a Norfolk County grand jury Thursday. John Gould, 62, was charged with six counts of rape of a child with force, six counts of aggravated statutory rape of a child, two counts of indecent assault and battery on a child younger than 14 and one count of open and gross lewdness, the Patriot Ledger reported.

Prosecutors told the Patriot Ledger the rapes happened between 2008 and 2012 and started while the girl was in pre-school up until she was in first grade. Gould was arrested in December 2019.

The indictment transfers the case to Norfolk Superior Court where Gould could face a longer sentence if convicted.
