Braintree Motel 6 Heads To Court Wednesday

BRAINTREE, MA — The company that owns the Braintree Motel 6 will appear in court Wednesday in an attempt to get back their operating license.
Last week, the Texas-based G6 Hospitality LLC announced that they would appeal the board of health decision that stripped their Braintree property of thee license. The hearing will take place in Norfolk Superior Court in Dedham.
Last week, citing the large amount of crime and incidents at the motel, the board voted 3-0 to revoke the motel's operating license. By law, the motel can operate until Tuesday to facilitate closing procedures.

Pressure to revoke the motel's license escalated following a May 5 incident where Braintree police officer Donald Delaney was shot while a group of officers attempted to serve an arrested warrant to a person staying at the hotel. The guest was found dead inside his room.
After Thursday's meeting, Braintree Town Council President Sean Powers said the motel's defense was crafted around hiding behind legal procedure and throwing up confusion to try to get their license back in court.
