Braintree Officers From Motel 6 Shooting Returning To Work
The five officers involved in the fatal May incident have been cleared to return to work.

BRAINTREE, MA — After months of sitting on the sidelines, the five members of the Braintree Police Department involved in a fatal incident at the Braintree Motel 6 are back on the police beat.
Officers Donald Delaney, Bill Cushing, Paul Hamilton, John Hurley, and William Cushing Jr. recently returned to work, with the Braintree Police Department posting a photo of Hurley passing out candy from his cruiser on Halloween. On Wednesday, Delaney returned to the beat, according to a Facebook post. Police Chief Paul Shastany confirmed in a review that all five have been cleared to return to work.
At about 9:30 p.m., the five went to the motel to serve a restraining order. After the suspect, identified as Tizaya Jordan Robinson, refused to open the door to his room, officers used a key to enter and were greeted with gunfire from Robinson. Delaney was shot and struck in the head by shrapnel and was transported to Boston Medical Center.
