Braintree Police Investigating Armed Gas Station Robbery

An unknown man wearing a hooded sweatshirt and a kerchief around his face allegedly robbed the Mobil on the Run at 265 Granite St. at knifepoint last Friday at 2 a.m., getting away with only a few packs of cigarettes.
The man confronted the attendant inside and demanded money from the cash register, Deputy Chief Russell Jenkins said in a statement. But the suspect left with only the cigarettes because the employee was unable to open the register. The attendant was not injured during the incident.
Responding officers used a canine to track the man to the , where police believe he had a car waiting, Jenkins said. The suspect was described as being in his early 20s, of medium build and approximately 5'5" to 5'7" tall.
