Braintree Police Investigating Gunfire Reports

BRAINTREE, MA — Police are investigating reports of gunfire in Braintree early Monday morning.

Officers went to Arborway Drive at about 12:30 a.m. after receiving numerous reports of gunshots. Police say the unknown suspects fled in a vehicle prior to their arrival.

Ten .45 caliber shell casings were recovered outside a home and it appeared that a power line was shot in the process, rendering it inoperable, according to Braintree Police.

It was the second time police were at the house within four hours. At 8:30 p.m., police responded to a report of a disturbance where witnesses said two men came to the front door and aimed a gun at them.

While investigating the shooting, Weymouth Police received a report of shots fired which was confirmed and not far from the Braintree address. Like the Braintree incident, the suspects fled in a vehicle prior to the arrival of officers.
