Braintree Police Raid Illegal THC Edibles Operation

Police recently raided a commercial space on Mill Lane, estimating that over $100,000 in THC gummies were seized.

BRAINTREE, MA — Braintree police raided a commercial business address on Dec. 12, and what they found were an awful lot of THC gummies.

According to police, the Braintree Police Drug Control Unit executed a search warrant on the Mill Lane building, finding "what can be described as an illegal THC edible/gummy operation," they said.

Police said numerous sheets of THC gummies were found on cooling racks along with thousands of already packaged gummies in various flavors. Each package contained 10 gummies each, police said.

Similar packages are sold online for about $50 each, leading detectives to estimate the street value of the gummies seized to be well over $100,000.

Also located were 17-liter bottles containing various amounts of THC oil, some of which were full. Depending on the quality, a liter of THC oil sells for about $2500 to $3000 on the commercial market, police said.

The space was outfitted with commercial kitchen equipment and commercial packing materials, according to police. A "high-end laser printer presumably to create packages for the edibles," was also present, police said.

"It appeared that this space was used exclusively for the manufacture and packaging of THC edibles," according to a Monday news release.

The space has been rented since 2020, but the owner of the property is not involved in the illicit business, police noted.

"Several people will face various charges to include Manufacturing a Class D Drug and Trafficking in Marijuana, 100 lbs. to less than 2000 lbs," police said, noting that none will be named at this time.
