Suspect in Braintree Fatal Hit and Run Arrested
Police say a woman was fatally struck by a car while crossing the street at the Weymouth Landing.

BRAINTREE, MA — Police have arrested a man who they say was responsible for a fatal hit and run that took place at the Weymouth Landing early Thursday night.
At about 5 p.m. a 62-year-old Braintree woman crossing the intersection of Shaw and Commercial Streets was struck by a car, according to the Braintree Police Department. A grill for a Mazda 626 was recovered at the scene and a witness told police they saw a dark-colored sedan traveling north on Shaw Street, police said.

The woman was pronounced dead at the hospital. She has been identified as 62-year-old Irina Hyde.

Friday night, police announced that Ryan Brady, 34, of Braintree, has been arrested and charged with leaving the scene of an accident causing death. He is scheduled to be arraigned in Quincy District Court Monday morning.
