Braintree Residents Donate $3,000 More to Romney Than Obama

The FEC database breaks down presidential, congressional and other campaign donations by state and city.

Leading up to the latest Sept. 30 election finance reporting deadline, Braintree residents donated hundreds of dollars to the campaign of former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney, especially in small amounts of $50, $25 and even $10.

Overall, Braintree residents have donated $21,333 this election cycle to Romney. Since the last filing deadline at the end of June, those living in 02184 gave $9,436.

Residents donated more to Romney than Obama, who has taken in $18,600, with less individual donations – 67 to 231 for the incumbent.

Among the most prolific donors were businessman John Flatley ($2,500), Certified Financial Planner Paul E. Hess ($2,500) and businessman Richard Valentine ($2,500). Others include financial executives, a self-employed salesman, attorneys and engineers.
