Braintree Schools Enrollment Slightly Up
The increase can mainly be attributed to more students at the high school.

BRAINTREE, MA — Outside of a jump at the high school, enrollment across the Braintree Public Schools remains steady, according to Superintendent Frank Hackett.
The latest enrollment numbers shows 5,845 students in the Braintree schools, up by 76 students when compared to the June 1 number, but the high school accounts for the majority of the increase with 58 more students.
East Middle School saw a decrease of 35 students on opening day, while Morrison Elementary is up by 23, Ross Elementary is up by 15, and Flaherty Elementary is up by seven.

Mayor Joseph Sullivan said they were able to move around students that would normally go to the Ross and Morrison Schools due to the new flexible boundaries. Both schools were noted for their space crunch.
“Taking the 58 off the table where there is plenty of space, you're talking about 18 throughout 10 different categories, that's less than 2 kids per school although I know there are some schools that have more,” Sullivan said.
