Braintree Set to Invest In Technology Upgrades

The Town of Braintree is set to spend $254,000 for new computers and technology upgrades for the public schools.

The funds, which were approved at the Nov. 5 Braintree Town Council Meeting, will be used to buy new computers, iPads, and ebook readers for classrooms. Work will also be done to bring wireless networks to all the schools in the district.

“We’re still figuring out the exact configurations. But it’s been a while since we had a big expenditure like this [for technology], so we’re really looking forward to it,” Michael Coughlin, the mayor’s chief of staff told the Boston Globe.

Funding for the project comes from unused funds from repairs at Braintree High School and South Middle School.
