Braintree Twins Rise to the Top of the Senior Class
Braintree seniors Hannah and Leah Tan were the awarded the 2014 Mass. Association of School Superintendents' Award for Academic Excellence.

When the Massachusetts Association of School Superintendents’ Award for Academic Excellence was awarded to two the top two senior students at Braintree High School, the annual award was made extra special for one family.
At Monday School committee meeting, Braintree seniors Hannah and Leah Tan accepted their awards, presented by Superintendent Maureen Murray and the school committee.
The sisters, who rank one and two in the academic rankings for the Braintree High School seniors, came to the Braintree schools five years ago. During the presentation, they thanked their teachers for challenging them in class and caring about the students.

School Committee Chairman David Ringius praised the girls for being able to work hard and drive each other.
“It’s a testament to your parents,” he said.

Both girls are still looking at colleges while Hannah said she hopes to earn a business major while Leah plans on going pre-med.
