Braintree Woman Competing In National Baking Competition
Braintree resident Melanie Anderson hopes to win the "Greatest Baker" competition, so she can use the prize money to open her own bakery.
BRAINTREE, MA — Braintree resident Melanie Anderson has baked as a hobby for the last 20 years, perfecting her cupcake and custom cake recipes. But now, Anderson hopes to turn that hobby into a career after being selected to compete in the "Greatest Baker," a national baking competition.
Anderson runs a small business, Boss10 Cupcakes, from home, and if she wins, wants to use the $10,000 prize money to continue to make her dream a reality.
"I have been a resident of Braintree and have baked for many in our community," Anderson said. "I would love to be able to open up my own bakery right here in Braintree and winning this competition would be a huge help in getting me to that goal."

The competition lasts throughout November, and so far, Anderson has made it to the second round. Anderson said she's relying on the community to vote, so she can continue to move on and eventually win the contest in early December.
People can vote every 24 hours on the competition's website. The next round ends at 11 p.m., Thursday, so if you're a fan of Anderson's baked goods, give her a vote today.
