Driver Ran Two Red Lights, Nearly Crashed into Pole While Drunk: Police

BRAINTREE, MA — A Quincy man ran through two red lights and almost struck a pole near Town Hall, police said.

De Le, 54, was arrested late Sunday night and charged with operating under the influence of alcohol, operating to endanger, speeding, failure to stay in marked lanes and failure to stop at a red light, according to Police Chief Russell Jenkins.

Shortly after 11:30 p.m., an officer in the area pulled over Le after watching him drive through two red lights and nearly strike a pole. During the traffic stop near Town Hall, the officer made observations that led him to believe the driver was impared, Jenkins said.
