Eco-Friendly Salon Grand Opening This Weekend in Braintree Square

Pura Vida opened earlier this fall and will have a big opening on Nov. 5.

Pura Vida, an eco-friendly hair salon, was launched in Braintree Square in September by owner Courtney Romano and will have a grand opening Nov. 5, featuring raffles to support a local family in need.

Romano said she worked with to convert all of her electric to energy efficient sources and has recycle centers located around the salon. She uses neck strips as well as towels in the bathroom to cut down on paper waste and also donates hair clippings to Matter of Trust, an organzition that uses hair to absorb oil spills as well as the use of farming replacing harsh pesticides.

Romano has a tankless water bubbler that uses filtered water. She also uses Pureology products on her back bar. Pureology uses Post-consumer recycled plastic, and are 100% recycable.
