Ex-Bruin Kevin Stevens Pleads Guilty to Selling Oxycodone in Braintree
The former NHL star will return to court in March for sentencing.

BRAINTREE, MA — In 1995, Kevin Stevens came to Boston to play hockey for his hometown team after eight years with the Pittsburgh Penguins. Now, he face up to 20 years in prison.
The Pembroke native pleaded guilty in U.S. District Court to selling oxycodone. The US Attorney's office says he was involved in the scheme at least between August 2016 to March 2016 and Braintree, Medford, Boston, and Plymouth were among the towns where he sold the drug.

A second person, Christopher Alonardo, of Medford, has pending charges in the case.
A plea agreement filed in court says Stevens was responsible for 175 pills containing 30 milligrams each.

While Stevens faces up to 20 years in prison, prosecutors are expected to keep their recommended prison sentence on the low end.
Raised in Pembroke, Stevens played for the Penguins, a season for the Bruins, Los Angeles Kings, New York Rangers, and Philadelphia Flyers. His international career consisted of appearances at the 1987 World Championship and 1988 Winter Olympics for Team USA.
Sentencing is scheduled for March 28. Stevens is free until then.
