Extended Hours This Weekend at Compost Site for Hurricane Sandy Cleanup

Braintree's site is off Plain Street by the cemetery.

UPDATE 1:15 p.m.: This release is from the Mayor's Office:

Mayor Joseph Sullivan has announced that the compost site at 225 Plain Street will be extending operating hours from 7am until 5pm (normal operating hours are 7am until 3pm) on Saturday and Sunday November 3 and 4 to allow residents to bring yard waste that resulted from Hurricane Sandy. Residents are reminded that the compost site does not accept tree stumps.

“We need to offer additional hours out of necessity and convenience” said Sullivan. “Storm Sandy packed a punch and leaves and branches are everywhere."

In addition, Saturday’s town wide curbside yard-waste pick-up will proceed as scheduled. Please ensure that leaves are place in biodegradable bags or containers. Braintree yard-waste pick-ups will be every Saturday until December 8.
