How Much Does It Cost To Run For Town Council In Braintree?
Campaign finance reports show Town Council candidates in the Braintree election have been busy raising money.
BRAINTREE, MA — Braintree released has campaign finance reports for Town Council candidates running in the Nov. 5 municipal election. According to the reports, which cover contributions and expenditures between Jan. 1 and Aug. 30, District 5 candidate Meredith Boericke led all candidates by raising $12,610. But the honor for most expensive campaign goes to District 5 candidate Anthony Preston spent $9,226.56 during that period.
Boericke's biggest donations included $2,o00 from Thomas Volpe, of San Francisco, California, $1,000 from Mary Lou Butler, of Scituate, $750 from Meredith Flannery, of Roslindale, and $250 from Karen Ricciardi, of Braintree.
Preston funded $3,148.17 of his own campaign. Some of his other biggest donations included $500 from Brian and Theresa Riccardi, of Braintree, and $500 from Stuart Ivimey, of Cohassett.

District 3 candidate Joseph Lydon, District 6 Councilor Timothy Carey and At-large councilors Shannon Hume and Charles Ryan didn't submit their campaign finance reports to the Town Clerk's office by the deadline, but Carey has since submitted his report. Patch has sent a public record's request to the Town Clerk's office and will update this story when those forms are returned.
