Life Sentence For Man Convicted In 2022 South Shore Plaza Shooting
Julius Hammond-Desir received a life sentence with the possibility of parole after 25 years for the murder of Dijoun Beasley.
BRAINTREE, MA — The man convicted of murder earlier this week in the 2022 shooting death of Dijoun Beasley was sentenced to life in prison this week.
The sentence came down for Julius Hammond-Desir on Thursday. He was 19-years-old at the time of the shooting. The sentence includes the possibility of parole after 25 years.
Hammond-Desir was accused of shooting Dijoun Beasley, 26, of Boston, in the head near the exit to Forever 21 in the mall on Jan. 22, 2022. Beasley was shopping with his girlfriend, who was pushing a baby in a stroller. He was transported to a Boston hospital where he later died.

The shooting forced the mall to evacuate or shelter-in-place, though it is believed Hammond-Desir immediately fled the mall after the shooting.
