Local Band Ramshackle Helps Project Prove Raise Money at Braintree Farmers Market

On Saturday, June 23, local music favorite Ramshackle (Robin Roy Huer – born and raised in Braintree, Bill Rose of Hanover and Dave Bleckley of Weymouth) added a helping hand at the Braintree Farmers Market to the fundraising efforts for the n.   

PROVE supporters including Steve De Witt, Ian Huer, student Elise Zarrella and graduates Danny Federico and Matthew Wrick were on hand to sell wristbands to raise money for a bronze plaque which will be given to in honor of the program's founders and the 40 year ongoing success of the PROVE program.  

Braintree High School's Project PROVE is a program for individuals of high school age with developmental disabilities and other challenges that was launched in 1972 as a pilot program by a small group of parents and administrators including former Assistant Superintendent Mr. Molongoski.

Prior to the program, students with such challenges were not able to attend high school. Proof of PROVE’s success is evidenced by its longevity and by its students and graduates who are active contributing members to the community today.

The 40th is being celebrated throughout the year and will culminate in a 40th Anniversary celebration combined with the Annual Project PROVE Reunion at the on October 21, 2012.  

If you missed Saturday's festivities, come see Ramshackle at the Concert on July 10 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. and you'll still have a chance to buy a wristband or ten. And, if you can't make it there, come by and see us at the Farmers Market on July 14.
