Maine Man Charged with Crashing Vehicle with Kids Inside
Police say the man crossed into the opposite lane and went over the curb.

BRAINTREE, MA — A Maine man faces numerous charges after a crash early Sunday morning.
On July 24, police in Braintree responded to a car crash near the 2000 block of Washington Street. When they arrived, police observed a Jeep with heavy front end damage in front of the Braintree Garden florist, according to Police Chief Russell Jenkins. Evidence at the scene indicated that the Jeep drifted across the street, went over the curb, struck several brick columns and a fence, and ended up in front of the store.
A front seat passenger was transported to South Shore Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Three children in the car were not injured despite not being in car seats. The driver told police that he may have fallen asleep while driving, Jenkins said.
