Man Indicted After Pulling Knife On Braintree Macy's Worker: PD
A Halifax man was indicted after pulling a knife on a Macy's employee at the South Shore Plaza, according to prosecutors.
BRAINTREE, MA — A Halifax man police said pulled a knife on a Macy's employee at the South Shore Plaza two months ago was indicted Wednesday, transferring his case to Norfolk Superior Court. Dean Beltramini, 37, was charged with armed robbery, two counts of assault with a dangerous weapon, failure to stop for police, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, and other traffic violations.
Around 7 p.m., April 29, a store employee saw Beltramini and a woman attempting to shoplift, so the worker confronted them, police said. Police said Beltramini pulled a knife on the store employee and then sped away as police arrived. Officers later found Beltramini at a house in Whitman. Police said he tried running outside the house into the woods, but eventually surrendered.
Beltramini is expected to be arraigned in superior court at a later date. By the case transferring from district to superior court, Beltramini could face a longer sentence.
