Man Pulls Knife On Macy's Employee At South Shore Plaza: Police
When a Macy's employee confronted suspected shoplifters, one of them pulled a knife on the worker, police said.
BRAINTREE, MA — A Halifax man was arrested Monday after pulling a knife on a Macy's employee at the South Shore Plaza, police said. Dean Beltramini, 37, was charged with armed robbery, assault with a dangerous weapon, failure to stop for police, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, and other traffic violations.
Around 7 p.m., a store employee saw Beltramini and a woman attempting to shoplift, so the worker confronted them, police told the Patriot Ledger. Police said Beltramini pulled a knife on the store employee and then sped away as police arrived. Officers later found Beltramini at a home in Whitman. Police said he tried running outside the house into the woods, but eventually surrendered.
Beltramini was arraigned Tuesday in Quincy District Court and was ordered held on $1,000 bail. His next court date is scheduled for May 31.
