Man Lying On Highway Hit, Killed In Braintree

BRAINTREE, MA — UPDATE — Police identified the man who was struck by a car Sunday night on Interstate 93.

A man died after he was hit by a car on Interstate 93 Sunday night, State Police said. Around 8:30 p.m., police were called to the highway after reports of a man lying in the middle lane of the southbound side of the highway. He was then hit by the car.

According to police, the man was struck by a Honda Accord and was unresponsive when first responders arrived. He was transported South Shore Hospital in Weymouth, where he later succumbed to his injuries.

Police have yet to identify the victim. Police said they were still investigating why the man was lying on the highway.
