Parade Lineup for Braintree's 4th of July Celebration

The parade, music and fireworks celebration is in Braintree on June 29, 2013.

The Braintree 4th of July Celebration Committee has released a list of the groups that have signed up so far for the June 29 Stars and Stripes Parade.

The parade starts at 11:45 a.m. at Hollis Elementary School and heads down Washington Street, ending near Sunset Lake. The celebration continues at Braintree High School with a lineup of music and fireworks.

More than 70 units and a dozen local groups have signed up for the parade, and there is still time to join. Go to www.Braintrees4th.org for more information.

“This parade and celebration is a great day for Braintree to celebrate our history and come together as a community," Mayor Joseph Sullivan said in a statement. "We look forward to a great showing of civic pride from the many local civic organizations as we hold Braintree’s 40 Day Celebration."

The celebration cmmittee recently formed major partnerships with local “Signature Level” sponsors, including A Street Scrap Metals, owned by the Burns Family of Braintree, and Liberty Bay Credit Union, headquartered in Braintree at 350 Granite Street. 

“The committee is honored to have A Street Scrap Metals and Liberty Bay Credit Union become major partners to allow us to have the financial support to put on this free family fun event," Committee Chair Sean Powers said. "The Stars and Stripes Parade will have something in it for everyone to enjoy and the Celebration at the high school will feature some of the best live entertainment and fireworks on the South Shore."

Donations can be made online at www.Braintrees4th.org or made out and mailed to Braintree July 4th Celebration Committee P.O. Box 850263, Braintree, MA 02185. There will be a volunteer meeting for all those wishing to volunteer in the parade and celebration on Monday, June 24 at 5:30 p.m. in Fletcher Hall, located on the basement level of Braintree Town Hall. Pizza and refreshments will be served.
