State Police Arrest Braintree Man Who Fled Scene, Had Five Warrants For His Arrest

At about 9:30 p.m. on Monday, Trooper Robert Dubois of the State Police Community Action Team stopped a 2003 Nissan Sentra on Ames Street near N. Montello Street in Brockton for a motor vehicle violation. During the encounter, it was determined that a passenger in the vehicle, 27-year-old Scott Pedretti of Braintree had five outstanding warrants for various charges including Resisting Arrest, Giving a False Name, and Violation of an Abuse Prevention Order. Prior to being secured in the cruiser, Pedretti fled on foot. A short while later, with assistance from a State Police Helicopter and a Brockton Police K-9, the suspect was tracked to a residence on N. Montello Street. He was subsequently taken into custody by State Police and Brockton Police.

Another passenger in the vehicle, 26-year-old Ellise Melanson of Rockland, was placed under arrest for Possession of Class E with Intent to Distribute. The driver of the vehicle, 27-year-old James Buchanan of Halifax was issued a summons for Operating After Suspension and committing a Marked Lanes Violation.
