State Upholds Denial of Beer and Wine License for Braintree Rite Aid

The ABCC has upheld the Board of Licensing Commissioner's decision.

The Braintree Rite Aid has lost their appeal of a decision by the town’s licensing board to not grant them a beer and wine license.

In a correspondence to the board, the state Alcoholic Beverages Control Commission announced that they have upheld a decision by the board.

In September, the board voted 2-2 to deny the license to PJC of Massachusetts, the parent company of Rite Aid according to the Patriot Ledger. Building Inspector Russell Forsberg and Municipal Licenses and Inspections Director Mary Beth McGrath voted against the request, showing concern about the need of a license for a business within 600 feet of two other outlets that sell alcohol.
