Two Braintree Businesses Part of State Workforce Training Grant

The governor's office announced more than $11 million in workforce training funding for 138 Massachusetts companies on Monday afternoon.

Dellbrook Construction and Integrated Builders, both based in Braintree, are the receipts of more than $85,000 combined in grants from the state that will go toward creating new jobs and training workers.

Gov. Deval Patrick announced on Monday the distribution of $11.3 million worth of Workforce Training Fund grants to 138 cities and towns across Massachusetts. The money will fund two years of training programs, produce about 1,700 jobs and train 13,000 workers, Patrick's office said in a statement.

"To compete in the global economy, we must continuously invest in our workforce and I am proud to give thousands of our workers the chance to improve their skill sets," Patrick said.
