Two Braintree Wamps Named to Boston Globe All-Scholastic Team

Brianna Herlihy was honored in basketball while Colin Babineau made the gymnastics team.

BRAINTREE, MA - A member of the powerhouse known as the Braintree High School girls’ basketball team has been named among the best basketball players in the area.

Senior Brianna Herlihy was recently named one of the Boston Globe’s players of the year, an award given to five local hoop stars.

A two-time state champ and a Division 1 South finalist this year, Herlihy was named the Bay State Carey Division MVP and is a two-time All-Scholastic.

She finished her high school career with over 1,000 points.

Herlihy has committed to playing college ball at Villanova.

In gymnastics, All-Scholastic freshman Colin Babineau showed plenty of potential, placing fifth at the state championship in all-around. He was also the top finisher in the event for the Wamps.
