Unknown Grinch Targets Archbishop Williams Tree Sale
But like the story, the crime only brought the community closer together.

zp>BRAINTREE, MA — A real-life Grinch that vandalized and stole from the annual Archbishop Williams Christmas tree sale has, like the fictional character, only brought the community closer together.
Friday, volunteers at the sale discovered that someone had stolen several trees, smashed lights, and destroyed the wreaths and tree stands that stood in the high school's parking lot.
Braintree resident and volunteer Jenny Gordon told the Boston Herald that 700 trees are ordered every year with the hope of raising about $35,000 to offset tuition costs.

The silver lining in the story is that once word got out about the theft, members of the community came out in droves to buy trees, including one person who left with four.
An arrest has not been announced.
