Police: Escape Gone Wrong Leads to Arrest

A Bridgewater man was arrested Monday afternoon he allegedly attempted to flee police.
Paul Werra, 35, was charged with failure to stop for police, operating with a suspended license, operating an unregistered vehicle, operating an uninsured vehicle, unlawfully attaching plates, disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, breaking and entering, trespassing, and assault and battery, according to Police Chief Russ Jenkins.
Shortly before 4:30 p.m., police responded to a disturbance at a home on Pearl Street where it was reported that there was an unwanted party allegedly fighting with occupants of the home. Responding officers were told that the suspect fled on a blue motorcycle.

Moments later an officer observed a blue motorcycle in the middle of the road and attempted to stop the operator who was trying to drive away, however, he had trouble operating the motorcycle and was unable to flee.
The officer was able to subdue Werra and take him into the custody.
