Woman Charged with Cashing Over $89,000 in Bad Checks Arrested in Braintree
Police say Briana N. Guzman cashed bad checks at various Bank of Americas in a matter of hours.

A Methuen woman was arrested after she attempted to pass a bad check in Braintree, police said.
Briana N. Guzman, 19, was charged with forgery and passing a forged document, according to Braintree Police Chief Russ Jenkins.

Wednesday afternoon, police were called to the Bank of America on Tremont Street after Guzman allegedly attempted to pass a check drawn on a Florida business for $7,350. Officers later learned that Guzman had recently passed a similar check at a Bank of America in Weymouth for $7,155 and had cashed a total of 11 bad checks at various Bank of Americas over the previous few hours. The checks totaled over $89,000, according to Jenkins.
None of the stolen money was recovered.
