The YP Bootcamp begins Tuesday, April 8, and runs for eight consecutive Tuesdays from 8:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Hyatt Place, Forbes Road, Braintree. Classes are supplemented with personalized assessments and small group coaching sessions. Drawing upon case studies, participants' work/life experiences and guest speakers, the program emphasizes the traits, attitudes and behaviors of successful people and why character, competence and conduct matter.
At the core of the program is the role that Emotional Intelligence (EQ) plays in achieving goals and high performance, and how participants can learn to develop their own EQ to build personal competence (self-awareness, self-management, self-expression) and social competence (social awareness, relationship management, social responsibility). Discussions cover the essential skills and best practices associated with building a positive personal brand and professional image. They include pursuit of excellence, trust and respect, commitment and accountability, communication, handling differences, creative thinking and problem-solving, teaming and leading.
Jacquie Collins said, “Our clients and employers everywhere look for people with competencies and abilities beyond technical knowledge. Unfortunately, the very qualities needed are often the qualities lacking in many new graduates and young professionals. Our Young Professionals Bootcamp addresses this need by helping business rookies learn what it takes to be ready for prime time, including the importance of Emotional Intelligence, building a positive personal brand and having professional presence, which are all predictors for success!”
