California Man Accused Of Killing 2-Year-Old Brockton Boy

Timothy Jo Griffin was charged with murdering a 2-year-old Brockton boy, following a three-year police investigation.

BROCKTON, MA — A California man police said killed a 2-year-old Brockton boy, nearly three years ago will be arraigned Thursday, following his arrest last month. Plymouth County District Attorney Timothy Cruz said Timothy Jo Griffin, 24, of Long Beach, Calif., was charged with murder and reckless endangerment of a child in connection to the 2016 death of Nazeir Phillips.

On Dec. 5, 2016, Phillips was found unresponsive at an East Main Street Home and died three days later at Massachusetts General Hospital. Prosecutors did not immediately release Griffin's relationship to the boy.

Following an "exhaustive investigation" by State and local police, an arrest warrant was granted, and California authorities arrested Phillips at his Long Beach home on June 28, the Plymouth County District Attorney's office said in a statement.
