BROOKLINE, MA — Resident Damon Hart recently attended The Home for Little Wanderers' annual Voices and Visions Celebration.
The fundraising event brought more than 300 guests to the Fairmont Copley Plaza and raised $1.2 million to support The Home's nearly 40 programs serving children, young adults and families. Hart serves as board chair of The Home for Little Wanderers and is executive vice president, chief legal officer and secretary of Liberty Mutual Insurance.
The Home for Little Wanderers works with children and young adults from birth to age 26 through community-based and residential programs. The organization said many of the children it serves have experienced abuse, neglect, trauma or disrupted family lives. Founded in 1799, The Home is the oldest child welfare agency in the United States and serves thousands of young people and families each year through foster care, adoption, behavioral health, education and residential programs.
This year's Voices and Visions Celebration highlighted stories and talents from members of The Home community. Emma Lothrop, a student at Clifford Academy, designed handcrafted wood centerpieces, cutting boards and chessboards for the event.
The event also featured artist and photographer Megan Farretta, who shared her experience moving from foster care to adoption and the support she received through The Home.
The 2026 President's Award was presented to Cynthia Caruso, who recently adopted her younger brother with help from The Home. Organizers said Caruso opened her home to ensure her brother would not have to age out of foster care alone.
Hart has chaired The Home's board while also remaining active in community organizations across Massachusetts. He is a founding member of The New Commonwealth Racial Equity and Social Justice Fund and has been recognized for his work supporting vulnerable children and families through The Home.
