House of Possibilities June 23 Gala to Benefit those with Developmental Disabilities

Brookline attorney Vanda Marie Khadem will be honored with the Champion of Special Chidren Award at the upcoming Endless Possibilities Gala sponsored by the House of Possibilities (HOPe) on Thursday, June 23 at 6:00 pm at Gillette Stadium in Foxboro.

HOPe provides top quality care and exceptional programming for children and adults living with developmental disabilities. It is the only place of its kind in Massachusetts.

The Founder and President of Autism Higher Education Foundation, Vanda Marie Khadem represents clients both in family law cases and special education matters. She is an experienced Mediator and Parent Coordinator and serves as a Guardian ad Litem in cases involving children with special needs.

Paula Kavolius, the Founder and President of HOPe, noted that the organization has served over 1000 children and supported some 3,000 family members since opening in 2009. HOPe offers overnight respite care, daily integrated programs of activities and therapies on weekdays for adults and a variety of social programs on the weekends for children. HOPe programs also bring clients into the larger community for skill building, integration and recreational opportunities.

Kavolius emphasizes that these programs are not self-sustaining and that HOPe needs additional support to enable it to carry out its mission and continue to build its community of hope.
