Brookline High School Alum Scores Goal, Makes It To ESPN

BROOKLINE, MA — It’s not every day that someone from Brookline (aside from Tom Brady) winds up on ESPN’s Sportscenter TopTen list, but one Brookline High School graduate was #3 last week with a soccer goal.

Shams Mohajerani, a sophomore at Middlebury College and recent BHS and School within a School graduate, might be known around Brookline as a Kookoo's barista who perfected his latte art over the summer, but his real passion is soccer.

Last week Middlebury College won 3:1 their first game against Norwich University in Vermont and during it, Mohajerani turned around from a bit more than 30 yards out, and scored a stunner of a goal that was so spectacular — in its arch down it found its way into the upper right hand corner of the goal just out of reach of the goalie's hand — it made it into ESPN's top 10 goals.
