Brookline Hiring Economic Development & Long-Term Planner
The planning department has extended its deadline to Friday.

BROOKLINE, MA – Brookline is currently accepting applications for its newest town employee, a planner specializing in economic development and long-term planning. The deadline to apply is Friday.
According to the Brookline town website, the planner will assist the Planning Department in encouraging commercial growth and fostering the prosperity of businesses, and will support and participate in implementing a variety of long-term planning goals.

• Bachelor’s Degree in urban planning, communications, or a related field plus a minimum of three years of economic development, long-term planning, community engagement or an equivalent combination of experience and education. Master’s Degree is preferred.
• The ability to be self-directed, resourceful and results-oriented; excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills

• Demonstrated ability to work professionally, collaboratively and respectfully with a wide range of community partners
• Technical skills in economic development, long-term planning, urban planning, and/or zoning; ability to read and interpret site plans
• A working knowledge of MS Office skills plus basic web editing software, Arc Map, SketchUp, and Adobe Design Standard products
• A valid driver’s license and the ability to attend evening meetings are required.
• Additional language skills a plus.
Starting salary is $64,000 plus a comprehensive benefits package.
