Brookline Library To Host Callie Crossley And Hank Phillippi Ryan
Ryan and Crossley will explore questions inspired by Ryan's newest psychological thriller, Trust Me: How do we know what to believe?

BROOKLINE, MA - From the Public Library of Brookline: On Tuesday, November 27 at 7 PM, the Public Library of Brookline will host An Evening with Hank Phillippi Ryan and Callie Crossley: The Story Behind the Story. Ryan and Crossley will explore questions inspired by Ryan’s newest psychological thriller, Trust Me: How do we know what to believe? How do journalists uncover the truth? And how do reporters and writers translate investigation into narrative? Drawing from their work in journalism and fiction, they will discuss the idea of hunting for the real story, the work of reporters to discover and convey the truth, and the true crime stories that inspired Trust Me.
This event will take place at the Brookline Village Library, 361 Washington Street, and is free and open to the public. Copies of Trust Me will be available for purchase courtesy of the Brookline Booksmith, and Ryan will be available for signings.
Hank Phillippi Ryan is an on-air investigative reporter for Boston's WHDH-TV, winning 34 EMMYs and dozens more journalism honors. The nationally bestselling author of 10 mysteries, Ryan's also an award-winner in her second profession—with five Agathas, two Anthonys, two Macavitys, the Daphne, and the Mary Higgins Clark Award. Her novels are Library Journal's Best of 2014, 2015 and 2016. Callie Crossley is a Radio and TV Host and Commentator at WGBH Boston. She hosts WGBH’s weekly radio program,” Under the Radar with Callie Crossley” and TV program “Basic Black.” Her commentaries on WGBH's Morning Edition tackle politics, race, and pop culture. She is a featured commentator on WGBH-TV's media criticism show, “Beat the Press,” and on the mid-day radio program, “Boston Public Radio.” She has won multiple top journalism film and television awards, including a National Emmy, the Gold Alfred I. Dupont-Columbia Award, Associated Press, Edward R. Murrow, and Clarion Awards, and Best Commentary from the Public Radio News Directors.
