Burglar Leaves Jewelry Strewn On Lawn at Break-In Site In Brookline

Brookline Police officers said they are processing prints and investigating a break in that happened yesterday. Police said they found several pieces of jewelry strewn outside a home on Willow Crescent after they responded to a report of a home alarm going off around 10:30 a.m.

As they made their way around the outside of the house to investigate the alarm, police saw several pieces of jewelry on the ground, according to the police blog. There was also a back window that was open with the screen kicked out.

Several units responded, including two State Troopers with their K-9’s. Officers conducted a search of the residence, and when the residents came home they walked through with them as well. It appeared the suspects - or suspects - got into the home through an unlocked side kitchen window.

Several units canvassed the area but came up dry. The investigation is ongoing at this time, according to the police blog.

Police said it looked like the jewelry was the target, but they're still trying to figure out if anything else was taken.
