Brookline Resident Announces Candidacy for Republican State Committee
Peter Lorenz will be running for the First Middlesex and Norfolk seat, which encompasses Newton, Brookline and Wellesley.

BROOKLINE, MA - A Brookline resident announced his candidacy for Republican State Committee Monday.
Peter Lorenz (R-Brookline) is running for the First Middlesex and Norfolk seat, which encompasses Newton, Brookline, and Wellesley.
“By implementing a strong grassroots effort, I will work closely with candidates at the local, state, and federal levels to ensure the republican party continues to make significant gains throughout government,” Lorenz said in his candidacy announcement. “It is essential that we work together in a unified approach to deliver success.”

Lorenz has worked as communications director for Energy and Environmental Affairs Secretary Matthew Beaton and House Minority Leader Brad Jones. He has also volunteered for the campaigns of Gov. Charlie Baker, United States Sen. Scott Brown and several Massachusetts legislative races.
“After becoming a member of my staff at the State House, Peter instantly demonstrated his value and quickly became a vital part of the operations of my office,” Jones said in the announcement. “He has always been a tireless advocate, a trusted advisor, and an individual with the utmost integrity. With Peter’s help, we were able to more than double the Republican seats in the House of Representatives.”

The Republican State Committee is an elected body of 80 members. One man and one woman represents each state senatorial district and serves as the governing body for the state party for a four-year term.
The Massachusetts State Republican Presidential Primary Election will be held on March 1.
