Brookline Woman Sues Distributors Over E. coli Allegations: Reports

Anne Boldys was hospitalized earlier this month after contracting E. coli.

BROOKLINE, MA – A Brookline woman is suing those she believes to be responsible for contaminated beef that kept her hospitalized for four days earlier this month.

According to a Brookline TAB report, Anne Boldys has filed suit against Adams Farm Slaughterhouse in Athol and Eva's Farm Organic Butcher Shop in Middleton.

Court documents cited by the Boston Globe claim Boldys ate beef that was bought by her parents from Eva's in late August. She was hospitalized from Sept. 4 to the 8 after falling ill with nausea, vomiting and diarrhea, the Globe reported.

The Brookline Department of Public Health confirmed to the TAB that Boldys' illness was caused by an E. coli outbreak linked to seven people in four states.

On Saturday, Adams Farm recalled beef, veal and bison slaughtered in July and August. According to the Globe, Boldys' suit alleges some of that beef was shipped from Adams Farm to Eva's, and that several people contracted E. coli after eating beef supplied by the slaughterhouse.
