Brookline Woman Turns 100

Bea Weber celebrated her centennial Feb. 29.

BROOKLINE, MA - The odds of being born on a leap year are 0.0007 percent.

For a woman born in 1916, the odds she would live to turn 100 were 1.30 percent.

Bea Weber has done both. Surrounded by three generations of offspring, Weber celebrated her 100th birthday on Feb. 29, according to the Brookline TAB.

Or she just turned 25, depending on how you look at it.

Born in 1916 to immigrant parents, Weber has lived in seven cities on three continents, including Havana, Cuba, Beverly Hills, and London, the TAB said.

Though well-traveled, she is relatively new to the neighborhood - at the age of 98, she moved to an apartment in Coolidge Corner to be closer to her family, the site reported.
