Man Hit By Car: Brookline Police Logs
A man was hit by a car and a couple homes were reportedly broken into over the weekend. A sample of what the Brookline PD responded to.

BROOKLINE, MA — On Friday there was a rash of car break ins, a land lord issue and a dog outside when it should have been inside. All of the following is from Brookline Police log or online blog. They are excerpts taken from the public police log and represent a portion of what kinds of calls the police respond to. All suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Friday, Aug. 4
Car break ins: At least 10 people reported their cars were broken into, especially along Tappan Street and Gardner Road. (See Patch article on this)

Home break: A VFW Parkway resident called to report their home was broken into.
Landlord issue: A Beacon Street resident came into the police station to report a complaint against his landlord for coming into his home.

Saturday, Aug. 5
House sitters worst nightmare: Someone called to report that while they were house sitting for a friend who lives on Clark Road they came back to the house and the back door was open and the house was rummaged through.
This is not the bat cave: A Bonad Road resident reported there was a bat in her daughter's room overnight.
Child hit?: Someone reported a car crash where a child was hit near the corner of Boylston Street and Dunster Road around noon. (UPDATE: Police said it was actually a 27-year-old man and he was listed in stable condition late Saturday afternoon at the hospital. No word on whether anyone was issued a citation in this incident. No word on why someone originally noted a child was hit.)
Things that go boom: Two separate calls came in after 9 p.m. about possible fireworks in the area of Lee Street near Warren Street and Greenhill Road.
Sunday, Aug. 6
Break in? Or does Fido now have a new talent for opening doors?: A Loveland Road resident called to report a break in. Earlier that day a neighbor called them to let them know their dog was out in the yard. It is possible, they said, they accidentally left the door open.
Kicked in: Someone called police to tell them someone kicked their car, leaving visible shoe markings and a dent while it was parked on High Street.
Bike gone: A Monmouth Street resident called to report their gray Nishiki hybrid bike was missing from an open garage.
