Bullying and Relational Aggression: How to Recognize, Intervene and Discourage Hurtful Relationships

Bullying and relational aggression are important topics in schools and on the playground. As a society, we are now recognizing how serious bullying and relational aggression can be, but the problem does not seem to be improving. Learn how to recognize the subtle and not so subtle signs of bullying, how to intervene, and how to discourage this behavior. There are many ways to help combat bullying, as a teacher, coach, parent, or child, and we all have the power to make a change. How can you help decrease bullying? How can you encourage your children, or children you work with, to take a safe stand against bullying? What if your child is the bully? We will look at bullying from a variety of perspectives and come up with tips and solutions on how to empower children in bullying situations, as well as how bystanders have the power to make a change. We'll also review the latest research, statistics, and resources as it relates to parents, teachers, and kids.
