Winning the International Riverprize: The Canadian Perpective
Peter Krause, International RiverFoundation

Wonder how the important work of rejuvenating and protecting rivers differs in other countries? Peter Krause will share his decades of experience protecting the Grand River and Lake Simcoe in Ontario, Canada, both of which are past International Riverprize winners. Mr. Krause will also discuss the effect of Ontario’s Clean Water Act on river and lake protection.  His unique experience will provide an international perspective on our work in  the Charles River.

Peter Krause is a board member and previous CEO of the International RiverFoundation, which awards the Thiess International Riverprize.  Mr. Krause is President of Trillium Environmental Consulting, Inc. in Ontario.  He is also the immediate past chair of the Grand River Conservation Authority, an environmental agency which received the 2000 International Riverprize.  Recently, Mr. Krause has served on several provincial panels providing the Ontario government with advice on the framework for Ontario’s Clean Water Act.
