Communication and Care at the End of Life

When it comes to end-of-life decisions, having a choice is of paramount importance for each individual. On this evening, Dr. Mamuya will address the question of why, we as a society, are so ill-equipped to deal with one of the absolute certainties in life. How we choose to die is the final frontier of "personalized medicine." Learn why conversations between patients, families, and their physicians are of great importance and help to reassure patients that their end-of-life care will be well-planned and personalized.

Wilfred Mamuya, M.D., Ph.D. graduated from the B.U. School of Medicine and completed his residency and cardiology fellowship at Brigham and Women's Hospital. He is board certified in cardiovascular disease, internal medicine, nuclear cardiology, echocardiography, and cardiac CTA. Dr. Mayuma's clinical interests include primary prevention, vascular medicine, and cardiovascular imaging.
